What Is Covered?

This limited warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship in product supplied and/or installed solely by BDS Door.

What Is Not Covered?

This limited warranty does not cover any damage, deterioration or malfunction resulting from any alteration, modification, improper or unreasonable use or maintenance, misuse, abuse, accident, neglect, exposure to excess moisture, fire, improper packing and shipping (such claims must be presented to the carrier), lightning, power surges, or other acts of nature. This limited warranty does not cover any damage, deterioration or malfunction resulting from the installation or removal of this product from any installation, any unauthorized tampering with this product, any repairs attempted by anyone unauthorized by BDS to make such repairs, or any other cause which does not relate directly to a defect in materials and/or workmanship of this product.

How Long Does This Coverage Last?

BDS Door (“BDS”) warrants the owner that products supplied by BDS shall be free from manufacturing and workmanship defects for a period of ninety (90) days from the purchase or delivery date, whichever comes first. BDS warrants the owner that products installed by the approved installer (“BDS Door”) on behalf of BDS shall be free from manufacturing and workmanship defects for a period of one (1) year from the installation date.

What Will BDS Do?

BDS Door will replace supplied product free of charge within a period of ninety (90) days from the purchase or delivery date, whichever comes first. Any product older than ninety (90) days from purchase or delivery date will be replaced under manufacturer’s warranty at a per-claim filing fee of $45.00, and $10.00 handling fee per item, up to the effective length of the manufacturer’s warranty from the original purchase or delivery date, whichever comes first. Owner/Purchaser will be required to purchase replacement product alongside fees, and after the return of the product and upon manufacturer’s verification of acceptable defect in materials and/or workmanship, the owner will be reimbursed for the cost(s) of replacement product(s). BDS Door will replace supplied product installed by BDS free of charge within a period of one (1) year from the date of installation.

Warranty on product installed by BDS applies only to the first generation owner of product that has not been serviced by anyone other than a BDS authorized representative. Any product older than one (1) year from original installation date will be replaced under the manufacturer’s warranty at a per-claim filing fee of $45.00, and $10.00 handling fee per item, up to the effective length of the manufacturer’s warranty from the original installation date. Owner / Purchaser will be required to purchase replacement product alongside fees, and after return of product and upon manufacturer’s verification of acceptable defect in materials and/or workmanship, owner will be reimbursed for the cost(s) of replacement product(s). No labor is warrantied on claims exceeding the one (1) year limited warranty period, and the owner/purchaser will be responsible for all costs associated with the removal and re-installation of product thereafter.

What BDS Will Not Do Under This Limited Warranty?

BDS Door will not accept any special order product for return, exchange, or refund. BDS will not be responsible for any costs related to the removal or reinstallation of this product from or into any installation that was not originally performed by BDS. Replacement of product does not extend warranty passed the original date of purchase and/or installation. Any work performed on the product that was originally installed by BDS, by anyone not authorized by BDS, will void this warranty. BDS will not warranty any product whose manufacturer’s warranty is less substantial than that of BDS’ warranty.

How to Obtain a Remedy Under This Limited Warranty?

In order to pursue any remedy under this limited warranty, you must possess an original, dated receipt or invoice as proof of purchase from BDS Companies. For service under this warranty, you must notify “BDS” in writing to obtain a Returned Material Authorization (RMA). When requesting your written RMA, you must specify in writing the product or service in question by part number, as well as applicable purchase order number, invoice number, or work order number.

When Can You Claim a Warranty?

This limited warranty can “only” be claimed during normal business hours. Any claims for service outside the city limits of Rochester MN will be subject to scheduling, and at the mercy of BDS’ availability. EMERGENCY SERVICE & AFTERHOURS SERVICE is not covered and would be billed accordingly.
